Mr. Howard, one of the two founding partners of Howard | Nassiri, boasts a diverse CV. From 1988 to 1992, Mr. Howard served as a police officer for the US Army. By the time of his honorary discharge in 1992, Mr. Howard had worked himself up to being an E4 Specialist. During his time in the Army, Mr. Howard served as part of Vice President Quayle and Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney's security detail during their visit to South Korea. In addition to serving honorably during America's first major engagement with Iraq - Operation Desert Storm - Mr. Howard won numerous awards, including Marksmanship, Good Conduct, and Overseas Medals as well as a National Defense Ribbon.
Mr. Howard attended the University of Nevada at Reno, where he received a BA in Sociology and earned distinction as a scholar. He later attended Western State University College of Law and earned the honor of being named a Dean Scholar.
After obtaining his JD, Mr. Howard went on to serve in Riverside California's DA's office, where he helped prosecute several substantial criminal cases. He then secured a position at one of Newport Beach's most venerated legal firms, Lopez Hodes Restaino Milman and Skikos. While he was engaged with mass tort litigation and pharmaceutical injury cases, Mr. Howard also spent time exploring areas of criminal defense law and labor law. He has pursued litigation against behemoth companies, such as Wal-Mart, Merck & Co. and Halliburton Company.
With respect to his role in battling Halliburton, Mr. Howard served as the liaison to California Rep. Henry Waxman in a matter, Fischer v. Halliburton. Mr. Howard appeared on numerous television outlets (including WKRG News 5 in Alabama, Inside Addition, and Fox News 10) as a legal authority. Mr. Howard additionally appeared on Bloomberg News, CorpWatch, and Army Times regarding the Fischer v. Halliburton matter and published a widely respected opinion on the case.
Throughout the span of Mr. Howard's career, he has dealt with numerous high profile matters and succeeded in getting judgments of many hundreds of thousands of dollars for his clients. He is a client-focused, sympathetic, and easy to work with lawyer who values communication - at the same time, he is a savvy litigator with a deep interest in both the philosophy and mechanics of the law.
Mr. Howard has many accreditations and certifications. In addition to belonging to the Board of Directors for the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association, he is a member of CA State Bar, the Orange County Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the Consumer Attorneys of California and the National Association of Consumer Attorneys and the Robert Banyard Inn of Court.
