Joseph Weiner is Of Counsel to HOWARD | NASSIRI. Joseph Weiner’s practice focuses exclusively on immigration and nationality law. He has experience in all aspects of immigrant and nonimmigrant visa processing, and has represented individuals and corporations before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, respondents before the Executive Office of Immigration Review, and individuals processing through various U.S. Embassies and Consulates abroad.
Joseph has prepared and filed numerous immigrant and nonimmigrant visa petitions. These have included employment-based petitions for permanent residence under the first, second, and third preference categories, petitions for immigrant investors under the fifth preference, or EB-5, category, and petitions for permanent residence based on family relationships. He has also prepared and filed petitions in all major nonimmigrant visa categories, including petitions for Treaty Traders and Treaty Investors (E-1 and E-2 visas), Specialty Workers (H-1B visas), Trainees (H-3 visas), Intra-Company Transferees (L-1 visas), Aliens of Extraordinary Ability (O-1 and P-1 visas), Religious Workers (R-1 visas), and Canadian and Mexican workers under NAFTA (TN visas), and has helped clients obtain their visas at U.S. consular posts in a variety of countries.
Joseph graduated with degrees in Integrative Biology and Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1999, and obtained his J.D. degree from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2004. He has been a member of the State Bar of California since 2004, and is currently a member of both the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Immigration Law Section. He lives in Culver City, and enjoys talking about immigration issues incessantly.
